Roots rock band is a winning act

Ceann, a nationally touring band that plays "Yankee-Irish drinking music" and has two gigs today in Greater Binghamton, has just been named this year's best roots rock band by CD manufacturer Oasis. Two of the four band members are Binghamton natives: James G. Telfer and Jeffrey Hoag.

The band will be playing at 2 p.m. today at Cruisin' Pallooza VI at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point and at 9 p.m. at The Dan-Dee Grill, 215 Robinson St., Binghamton.

FYI: Ceann is Gaelic for "Head" and is pronounced key-ahn. For more about the band, visit www.ceannmusic.com.
